Over the last three school years, the number of students in the High School has increased by almost 12%, according to the Office of Admissions.

Antonio Reis (’25) is part of the 10.7% of the High School community with a physical disability, according to an online survey conducted by The Standard Jan. 16-26 with 131 student and faculty responses.

Returning to the school this fall, Antonio Reis (’25) said he noticed new calorie labels on various cafeteria items, namely the yogurt pots.

Directed by Alex Brown (P’25), the American Soup Kitchen at the American International Church supports individuals struggling with homelessness in London.

Mary Bracht (P’24), author of “White Chrysanthemum,” said the comfort women tragedy – which was the central focus of the novel – is one of the world’s most forgotten historical events due to a lack of awareness surrounding the topic.

Finding the label that fits one’s gender identity – especially when lacking a connection to the one assigned at birth – can lead to a stronger sense of self. However, some say societal gender constructs often suppress transgender and non-binary individuals’ gender expression.

More than 20 years have elapsed since pop culture-focused “Seventeen Magazine” published a story highlighting student experiences and divulging how ASL differs from the average American high school. Since then, those students have graduated and moved onto the next stage of their life: adulthood.

As the school year wraps up, community members share their pandemic memories through various forms of media – photography, illustration, writing and more. This project was inspired by The New York Times article “Coming of Age: Teens on a Year That Changed Everything.”

Lynsey Addario’s work often takes her to the frontlines of war. She explores international relations behind the lens of her camera, with a special focus on the role of women in more conservative societies. Addario also has a husband and son at the school.
